Covid Update January 2022

Dear parents and carers,

We wish you all a Happy New Year and hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas. It was ever so lovely to see the children return to nursery this morning and to hear all your magical adventures over the festive period. 

We would like to update you on a few changes with regards to the Covid 19 policies and procedures at Fledglings.

Firstly, as you may be aware, individuals may now take LFD tests on day 6 and day 7 of their self-isolation period. Those who receive two negative test results are no longer required to complete 10 full days of self-isolation. The first test must be taken no earlier than day 6 of the self-isolation period and tests must be taken 24 hours apart. This also applies to children under 5, with LFD testing at parental or guardian discretion. If both these test results are negative, and your child does not have a high temperature, your child may end their self-isolation after the second negative test result and return to Fledglings from day 8.

If a child under 5 is a contact of a confirmed case, please kindly ensure you complete a daily LFD test prior to attending nursery up until the isolation period of the close contact is complete.

We are currently updating our parent key worker and critical worker list, please kindly confirm your job title and which category your job role would be under. Please email your confirmation to admin@fledglingspreschool.co.uk . 

Please ensure you send the details by this evening if possible. This will enable us to  update our critical incident plan and we will send a copy out to you ASAP. 

Finally please notify the team if your child is not going to be in nursery as soon as possible. This assists greatly in arranging the staffing and ratios accordingly, especially as the cases in Stockport are unfortunately very high. Many nurseries have had to close as a result of this. We hope this won’t be the case at Fledglings.
