December 2020 Newsletter
8 Dec 2020
Christmas closure – We close for the Christmas on Tuesday 22nd December and re-open on Monday 4th January 2021.
Your children have been busy making lots of Christmas goodies, please can you send in a supermarket ‘bag for life’ so that everything can go in together and it will stay dry!
As some parents are choosing to keep their children at home for a longer period before Christmas this year, to help us to ensure that your children take home their Christmas activities, can you tell us your child’s last day at nursery before the Christmas break? A quick text or email would be great!
Preschool Christmas Performance – This year’s Christmas performance with Moss Hey Primary won’t go ahead due to Covid restrictions. Therefore we are videoing the children singing and will pop it onto the family page once finished.
Spare clothes bags & Snowsuits -We will be sending home all your children’s belongings including spare clothes bags for you to check contents, rename, refill with weather appropriate clothing over the holiday period (please remember to put spare socks in the bags) – another reason to tell us your child’s last day in advance, so we know to get everything ready to send home. When sending your children’s spare clothes bags back to nursery, please could you only send their drawstring Fledglings bag? We have very limited space for children’s coats, clothes bags, sleep bags, and unfortunately no room for rucksacks and carrier bags.
Parking – Please remember that Fledglings parents (and most of the staff) are not permitted to park in Moss Hey School car park. This is part of our lease agreement with Stockport Council. Please park considerately on the surrounding roads and walk via our fenced pathway to gain access to Fledglings.
Christmas – For the next couple of weeks we will be celebrating Christmas through planned and spontaneous activities. We are unable to hold a big Christmas Party this year, and will be having party teas on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 16,17,18 December, and children’s Christmas lunch on Monday 21 December; if children are going to be absent, please do be kind enough to let us know.
Thank you – for all your support, encouragement and co-operation during the past few months, your children continue to delight and amaze us. It has been a very different year!
The staff team have been absolutely wonderful in supporting Fledglings with its new Nursery Operating Procedures and ensuring that everyone is as safe as possible.
Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we can start to relax the restrictions we currently have to adhere to and we can enjoy 2021 meeting our families and friends.
We all wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year!
Julie, Jane and all the team at Fledglings!
