October Newsletter
19 Oct 2018
Hello,
Just a quick newsletter to keep you up to date with what we are planning over the next few weeks.
Open Evening – On November 1st we will be holding an Open Evening from 6.15 until 7.30, you are very welcome to come along to Nursery where you will be able to chat informally to our team, have a look around and meet other parents. We look forward to seeing you then. Please complete the slip below to let us know if you intend to come.
Children in Need – the week beginning 13th November our activities will be Pudsey related!! We will be sending home a Pudsey Bear (attached) for your child to colour in and stick coins onto, further details regarding our fun activities will follow.
Christmas Charities – Every year we support a local charity in the run up to Christmas, this year we will be supporting two!…
‘Mission Christmas / Cash for Kids’ lends a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children aged 0 to 18 years across 21 areas in the UK. We support this by asking you to contribute a gift of unwrapped, new, toys, games or something suitable for teenage boys or girls, that the Charity can donate to needy families, we will be putting a box out for contributions in November. The deadline for contributions is Friday 7th December.
‘Manchester Homeless Christmas Shoebox Appeal’ – supports homeless people living in Manchester, please fill a shoebox with contents such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap/shower gel, baby wipes/deodorant, hairbrush and comb, chocolate, sweets, and biscuits, hat scarf and gloves, warm socks, torch, and wrap but do not seal and add a £1.00 towards transport costs. The volunteers will distribute the boxes to homeless people just before Christmas, these can to be brought into nursery from now. Deadline for boxes to be dropped at Fledglings is Friday 23rd November.
Thank you all in advance for your support with the above.
Christmas Production – our pre-school children will be joining up with the Reception Class at Moss Hey for a production of ‘A Wriggly Nativity’, which will take place week beginning 3rd December, confirmation regarding dates and times will follow.
Christmas Party – Our Christmas party will take place on 18th December 9am until 11.30am, all children are invited even if they do not attend nursery on a Tuesday.
School Admissions – Children born between 1 September 2014 – 31 August 2015 will be starting school in September 2019, you can apply for your chosen school(s) on-line at stockport.gov.uk The deadline for applications is 15th January 2019.
Days of Attendance – Once you start at Fledglings we expect that the days you attend will remain the same throughout your time here. We don’t send out letters offering places to existing children any more, just to new starters. If you wish to increase or change any of your days (at any time, but particularly in the September) please can you let us know in writing via email giving as much notice as possible. We usually start offering new starter places around March each year for September starters, so it would be good to know by then if you wish to change / drop / add days.
Best wishes, Julie and the team.
