Christmas Performances Take place on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December at 9.30am, the children taking part and dressing up are the pre-school children who start school in September, the younger children who attend on those days will be joining to help us out with the singing, however they will remain on the benches and not be on the stage.
Holiday dates We finish for Christmas on Wednesday 21st December. Daycare return on Tuesday 3rd January and sessional care return on Monday 9th January.
Jo is on holiday from Tuesday 6th to Thursday 15th December. Please be aware that there may not be someone in the office at all times checking emails and texts, although we will do our best! and get back to you as soon as possible Any queries regarding fees will be dealt with upon her return.
Christmas Party Our Christmas Party will take place on Thursday 15th December 9.30am until 11.30am. All children are invited. We will be having treats at the party, fun, games, dancing, and maybe a visit from someone in a red suit…? The babies will be having a Baby Sensory party in the nest area. Please pick your child up from their usual room at 11.30am unless they usually stay for a daycare morning/full day/sessional school day on a Thursday. If anyone could volunteer to help with wrapping the children’s gifts next weekend/next week please call at the office.
Christmas Jumpers On Monday 19th, Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st staff will be wearing their Christmas Jumpers to get into the Christmas Spirit! Children are welcome to wear theirs too!
Staffing The parents who attended our open evening will remember I spoke about staff changes happening before Christmas. I am now able to tell you Louise will be leaving us on 8th December to take up a post within the NHS. Louise has been a fantastic staff member and will be missed by all of us, we wish her good luck in her new career. We have advertised the post unfortunately this is not the best time of year to recruit, therefore Kelly our room 2 leader is moving into the nest area to take Louise’s role and Angela our Early Years Manager will be based in room 2 supported by Karina and Jane, until we can appoint the right person to replace Kelly. Salwa who joined us in the Summer as her husband had relocated here with his job, is unfortunately having to return to Lincoln as her husband’s job has changed. We recruited Molly in October to work alongside Salwa to ensure a smooth handover for Salwa’s group. Salwa has only been here a short time, however she will be missed as she has very quickly become a valued member of our team.
Raffle We will be putting our box for raffle prizes in the corridor later this week, many thanks to those of you who have already contributed.
Role-play we are changing our role play areas into Santa’s Grottos, if you have any old decorations, rugs, blankets etc. we could use we would be very grateful, also any little hotel freebies toiletries, jam etc that children can wrap up as gifts would also be good
Car-park Please can you remind people who bring and collect your children to stay on the fenced pathway around the car-park and not go through the little gate and into the car-park?
May we take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful(!) New Year.
