Happy New Year and welcome back to nursery! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, thank-you all for the cards and gifts received by the staff, I hope that Santa was good to you too.
This term we will be exploring the topic of ‘Colours, Growth and Change’, we will be planning for group work, individualised planning and following the children’s interests to develop skills and knowledge. Please see our planning and photographs on the Parents notice boards.
We are also inviting parents in to talk about their professions that link in with ‘Keeping Healthy’, we have had offers from a Dentist and a Gym instructor, please will you consider coming in to talk about your profession, the children really enjoy listening to a new voice!
We will be holding fundraising activities later this term for ‘Mouse Army’, please see Minnie’s (Jasmine’s) Facebook page. Jasmine’s brother attends Fledglings and we all want to get involved ….more details to follow.
Next week….. WEEK BEGINNING 19TH JANUARY – Moss Hey school are having some repair work to the area outside the Caretakers Room (behind the blue gates). Please do not come into nursery over the car–park or use the small gate that leads to the car –park. The contractors equipment and trucks will be parked next to our fence, please enter using the fenced pathway, the contractor will then stop to let you pass safely. I apologise for the inconvenience, please hold onto your children’s hands and not allow them to run ahead at any time during your walk down the path to ensure their safety, it is anticipated the work will take approximately 3 days.
Please will also ensure that you close the gate behind you when you enter or leave the path, I will be fitting a self-closing hinge ASAP.
Once your child has been signed out we pass responsibility for their care over to you, please treat the corridor as an area where you need to closely supervise your children, as the door is being opened and closed by parents arriving children who are on their own at the end of the corridor could easily leave the premises without their parent. When you are entering and leaving the premises please ensure that there are no other children near you who could leave at the same time, and please never let a child out without their parent being with them.
Carol Holden has been approached by a playgroup in Wilmslow, and after much consideration has accepted a job offer to start after Easter. Carol will be leaving us on 6th March to enable her to experience a smooth handover at her new setting to be ready to start her job in the summer term. Carol has been here for many years, starting as a parent helper, progressing to a lunchtime assistant and then undertaking her NVQ level 3 training and becoming a keyworker to many children. We will all miss her and wish her good luck in her new role.
If you have any queries or questions regarding any of the above, please feel free to contact me.
Best wishes,
Julie Longbottom
